Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country of 28 million people. The former Soviet Republic was once at the heart of the ancient Silk Road trade route. Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) first worked in Uzbekistan in 1997. Our recent projects have responded to HIV and tuberculosis.
In 2017, MSF launched TB PRACTECAL in Uzbekistan, a clinical trial of a new treatment regime for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis.
