Papua New Guinea

Located in the Southwest Pacific, Papua New Guinea occupies the eastern part of one of the world’s largest islands.

The country is home to immense biological and cultural diversity. However, Papua New Guinea is also prone to tidal waves, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) first worked in PNG in 1992. Our projects have responded to natural disasters and disease, and provided care for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.
