Mexico is one of the most populous countries in the world, a country with distinctive culture, food and art. However, since 2007, tens of thousands have been killed and millions terrorised in violent feuds between powerful drug-trafficking organisations.

In addition, hundreds of thousands of migrants pass through Mexico every year in the hope of reaching the United States. Many are fleeing violence and poverty in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. However, the route is dangerous, and people are systematically exposed to further violence.

Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has been working In Mexico since 1985, supporting local healthcare systems and providing urgent medical and psychological support to vulnerable migrants.
