My name is Sandra and I'm an Advocacy Officer in the field with MSF.
My job is to push for improvements in healthcare and humanitarian aid for our patients, and to make sure that people with power are using it with the best interests of our beneficiaries in mind.
In my varied career in communications and campaigns, I've interviewed officials in Minsk and people living with HIV in Maputo; peace-built in Bosnia and campaigned against fur in Britain; worked with human rights defenders in the Gambia and busted Ebola myths in Guinea. I am currently working in Pakistan.
When I'm not working in the field, I'm studying with the goal of becoming a medical doctor — and, of course, thinking about when I'll next be working in the field.
Here I'm writing in my personal capacity.
