My time in Tissi has come to an end.
I am writing from my room in Berlin where I have come to debrief about my time spent in the project. I always find debriefings useful as they represent a closure for me.
Returning to the European way of life can at times be a bit daunting, especially when you have been in a very remote context such as Tissi. Traffic, bright lights, elevators, useless huge adverts and other things always leave me feeling a bit lost. However after months of cold bucket showers I really appreciated a nice hot shower!
My return to European life started on the plane back from Africa watching an old Jodie Foster movie on my screen and eating fries at Addis Ababa airport with my travelling companion, a very nice German doctor I had only met the day before. We were both craving fries!
