Muhammad Lawal Abubakar has worked with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) since 2018, when he was one of the first Nigerian surgeons to join a surgical intervention at the MSF Noma project. Since then, Abubakar has been part of at least ten interventions, which he fits around his teaching and clinical commitments as a consultant plastic surgeon at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria.
