I wonder if it may be due to the fact that I lived in the same town on the same street in the same house for the first 17 years of my life that I now feel compelled to live in a new country and explore a new culture every few years. Whatever the reason, I am thoroughly enjoying the journey. Fortunately with nursing as my career, it’s all too easy to lead a transient lifestyle.
I feel so honoured to be given the opportunity to glimpse into the lives of women living in Northern Nigeria. I really want to be able to share with others what life is like for a woman growing up here, focusing on women’s health issues…both challenges and rewards. I’m really excited about being able to focus on PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission) as I have been working in the HIV field for the past years, both in clinical care and research.
This is my first mission with MSF and my first time in Nigeria. Hello Nollywood!
