My name is Johanna and I am a children's emergency nurse from London.
Before becoming a nurse I studied international development, and I have lived and worked abroad several times before. I most recently worked as part of the NHS team that went to Sierra Leone to help with the Ebola epidemic. I have always admired the work that MSF do and it has always been a dream of mine to work with them so I am very excited to be departing on my first mission.
Despite often caring for them in the Emergency Department I've never worked exclusively with teeny-weeny babies before, plus my role will have more managerial aspects than I'm used to.... So lots of reasons to be nervous, but also lots of exciting challenges ahead! Life's no fun if you don't venture out of your comfort zone every now and again....right...?!?
