My advice to the community - to the people in the whole world!
I know TB is stigmatised; in the workplace, in the shops, everywhere people go, because TB is linked a lot with HIV/AIDS. I want to tell people that they should not be assuming that. I know that I just have TB, but there is similarity when you see a person with TB and a person with HIV/AIDS. Now, what I want to tell people that TB is here and will be here. HIV is also here, but they are not the same.
If somebody has TB in your community or in the village where you are staying, don’t point fingers and don’t say that that patient has HIV. My advice to MSF and the organisations they are working with, or to any hospital in the world, is that they should sensitise their communities about HIV and TB, because TB is now a common disease in the world.
