My name is Gibson, I am 16 years old and I live in Epworth, a small town just outside the capital city of Zimbabwe.
I was diagnosed with TB when I was 14 years old after many months of continuous coughing. My grandmother took me to one of the MSF clinics, here in Epworth to get help. I went for what seemed like several months on the treatment but I was not getting any better.
We went back to the MSF clinic and they told me that the TB in my body was very powerful and it needed stronger medicine. The MSF nurse explained to me that I had what they call multidrug-resistant tuberculosis- MDRTB.
I won’t be going to school until March of 2014, when I complete my treatment.
