I am a health promoter from the UK, currently in South Sudan on my first assignment with assignment with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Since my very first day at university, I have been fascinated by anthropology: the concept that our culture determines our social norms, and ultimately how we see the world.
MSF places a huge emphasis on anthropology within health promotion. Health related messaging with the goal to eradicate disease can only be achieved if we understand the worldview and perspectives of the communities we work with.
I hope to use this blog to share many of these insights.
