After finishing my apprenticeship in general medicine, I worked as a dermatology resident for one year in an outpatient centre for sexually transmitted infections and fungal diseases before embarking on my first mission with MSF.
My position here is the primary healthcare doctor in charge of 13 GPs and two social workers. I supervise them on diagnosis and treatment and advise them on difficult cases.
My roots are in Sri Lanka but I grew up in Austria, where I have lived for the past 27 years.
