I'm a blogger and a client at the Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) service for medically assisted therapy (MAT) in Kiambu County, Kenya.
Kiambu County has some of the highest numbers of people who use heroin in Kenya. MSF runs a medically assisted therapy clinic in one of the hospitals. The facility brings together opioid substitution therapy and outpatient care including services for HIV, TB, mental health, wound care, sexual and reproductive health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), Hepatitis C, social support, and counselling.
