Responsibilities including managing complicated deliveries, curative care and performing obstetric surgeries. However, they also take on managerial roles, training staff and often running entire maternity wards.
In many of the places Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) works, access to gynaecology and obstetric care is highly limited, and there is huge potential to save lives.
