My dear people, during the time when I had to have injections, it was not easy. Life was just difficult because I was isolated from people, I had to just stay inside and anyone who used to come and see me they had to put on a mask. I felt so bad really, because sometimes you can’t even see the one who is in the mask, you can just see the way they are looking at you because they are thinking that I won’t survive, because I was not ok – I was in a bad way.
If you’re thinking humanely then you see that it is not bad that somebody puts on a mask and enters as he or she is obviously protecting himself or herself. I had to appreciate it then because of the disease I have – if people didn’t have the mask, they could not have come to see me because the information we received at the time said not to see anyone or meet anyone. But then, the organisation that is giving me the treatment, Médecins Sans Frontières, said it was ok.
Some of my friends came three days ago. When they came they told me “Grace, we heard that no-one is supposed to come into your room”. I told them it was like that before, but not these days. Now, they are free to meet me and I am free to go to their places. And one friend called me this morning and asked me to go and visit her at her place. I am preparing maybe tomorrow to go! She’s very happy to be with me again…..
