Patient blog: Abatgul is a writer and TV presenter in Uzbekistan. She is also a patient advocate who raises awareness of drug-resistant TB. Here she blogs about the first time she realised she was ill...
I'm from Cape Town, I'm an extremely jolly person and always try putting others needs' before my own. I am 20 years old and I've just over come my struggle with multidrug-resistant TB.
I would like my story to be told so that it can be an inspiration to other TB patients not to give up, and to help motivate others. I know how difficult it is to take the TB medication and while I was on treatment I saw how many patients relapsed as they refused to take it. So, hopefully my story will be one of the many that will help others to know that all hope is not lost and that there is still life after going through the fight of surviving TB.
