My working life started 30 years ago as a research student and assistant in structural engineering at Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden, resulting in a PhD. After that I specialised in wood construction and further issues of sustainability in construction, after a period in the USA for the Swedish Attaché of Technology in the early 90s.
I have managed a promotion organisation for wood, a continuing education organisation for the Swedish construction sector and a wood construction research team at the Technical Research Institute of Sweden, as well a number of innovation-oriented projects in sustainable construction.
For the last seven months, I have worked for MSF as a logistician in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to start to fulfil a lifelong dream of providing help and development for the parts of the world that need it so much more than Europe. My wife, myself and one child are based in Stockholm, Sweden, whereas the oldest child has just started university studies in San Francisco.
